THIS PLACE IS A HIDDEN GEM! I've tried most of their menu and have never had a bad experience. I especially love their salads (don't underestimate it) and eat here at least once a week. Chris -- who runs the place -- is great.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Just picked up a called in order. They stated 10-15 minutes. I arrived in 15, and they had not even started my order yet. In fact, a walk-in customer who came in after me was served before they started my food. I watched the "cook" microwave my sandwich and then wrap it in foil. That was it. I live 4 blocks away, and by the time I unwrapped my sandwich, it was not even lukewarm.

Reggio's Express just recently opened and is a fast-casual version of the original Reggio's on Jefferson in Mishawaka. We stopped in for a quick dinner one night and it was obvious they were still working out the kinks, plus a large group had arrived a few minutes before us. You order at the counter and the food is delivered to you when it's ready. The menu includes their famous salad, a variety of hot and cold sandwiches and a selection of pastas. This location does not have a kitchen so everything is prepared and brought over. I ordered the salad and my husband opted for the large meatball sub. We've had both before and the agreed it was better at the original location. The salad was ok, but evident that the lettuce had been sitting out for quite some time as some of it was browned and wilted. My husband enjoyed his meatball sub, but the bread wasn't toasted and became soggy and fell apart immediately. My salad came out first and thankfully it's large so we could share as it took quite awhile for my husband's sub to come out. Again, they just opened and seemed overwhelmed trying to serve the large group ahead of us (all their meals came out individually so the first one served was done by the time the last meal came out). It was $20 for the salad, sandwich and two waters. It seems like they increased the prices slightly which doesn't make much sense - you would think lower prices would be in order considering the food is prepared ahead of time. I would give it a try again for carryout, but we will probably stick with the original when it comes to a sit down dinner.

Great little spot for Italian! Favorite salad is the big Guisseppe salad! Delicious homemade Italian dressing. The Italian Sub is great as well! Salad club, buy 5 get 1 free.

I've had their spaghetti and meatballs twice, so far. It satisfies my pasta urge, for sure. This is very much an "express," so it's good for take-out if you're in a hurry. Not bad -- but not quite great. I wish they had mushrooms available for the pasta. So far, I still have to give Rocco's the win for take-out spaghetti. A word of warning: Both the pasta, and the soup I tried, are VERY salty. My cardiologist would not be happy. Just sayin'.

Food is ok to good but portions are small for the price. One gentleman doing everything, just doesnt work. He got my order wrong then insisted that it was my mistake. Second time going there and my experiences are getting worse.

I stopped here for lunch one day. I enjoyed the Roma vodka sauce as served in the original location. Spicy as usual. I had soup and salad combos but no salad and pasta combo. Overall I was happy with it for lunch.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
